滾鐘口

從拜寺口再往南走就是滾鐘口，這個山口在銀川市西北邊大約35公里，古代就是賀蘭山勝境之一，現是則是寧夏最著名的避暑、遊覽勝地。

滾鐘口三面環山，山口向東敞開，樣子就像個橫躺的大鐘。而在景區中央正好有一座小山，像是鐘內懸掛著的鐘錘，稱為「鐘鈴山」；所以被稱為滾鐘口。

西夏時期，西夏國王李元昊曾經在山溝北部建造了規模龐大的避暑宮苑。現在這片建築遺址上還能看到二十多處建築基礎，散落的磚、瓦、器物殘片俯拾即是。明清時期，這裏也曾經大興土木，建造廟宇、樓閣，修建了賀蘭主廟、老君堂、大悲閣、斗母宮、小洞天、關帝廟、興隆寺、晚翠閣、觀音廟……等十四處亭台樓閣建築，這些建築依山隨勢，錯落有致。

光緒十八年（1892年）修建的賀蘭主廟坐落在半山上，三座殿宇連成一體。主殿兩側繪有滾鐘口全景圖和賀蘭廟全景圖。

景區南側山邊的清真寺，是當地回教長老「馬克倫丁」的長眠之地，建有他的「拱北」（墓），他在十六世紀末從葉門遠涉重洋來到中國，在銀川等地傳教三十多年。每逢他的「歸真」（逝世）之日，遠近穆斯林紛紛前來念經朝拜，以示紀念。

雖然滾鐘口不算大的範圍裡同時存在著道教、佛教、伊斯蘭教的寺院，但是各種民族、宗教之間相處融洽和諧，幾乎沒有爭端。最特別的是觀音寺跟清真寺竟然背對背比鄰而居，兩座不同宗教的寺院只有一牆之隔。

據當地人傳說，當年馬克倫丁長老來到滾鐘口的時候當地已經建有觀音寺，於是馬克倫丁長老就跟寺裡的方丈商量暫時住在寺裡，後來馬克倫丁長老覺得畢竟信仰不同，他長期住在寺裡不太方便；於是跟方丈商量，方丈就把寺後的空地借給他，讓他在空地上築屋居住、傳教。不知不覺許多年過去了，有一天馬克倫丁長老又跟方丈商量，希望百年之後有個長眠之地；方丈就跟他說，你都在寺後面住了這麼長時間了，如果你覺得合適，就繼續待在這裡吧，於是這裡就成了馬克倫丁長老的長眠之地。也就形成了觀音寺與清真寺聯成一體的奇特格局。

滾鐘口經過歷代的修建，成為銀川著名的風景遊覽勝地。春夏之際一片翠綠。滿山遍谷的洋槐、翠柏、白楊鬱鬱蔥蔥。果樹上掛滿了紅山果和紅酸棗。山澗裏一縷涓涓清泉，山中綠樹、紅花爭相輝映，絢麗多彩。景區北部蜿蜒曲折的深溝裡，多有寺廟遺跡，所以被稱「大寺溝」。溝內樹木蒼翠，怪石林立，令人歎為觀止。
