再續 造神
(二)試練:
大國主命到了根之國須佐之男之命的殿堂，其女兒須勢理姬出來一看，大呼驚奇。二位年輕的神四目相視，相互吸引，默誓結合。之後，須勢理姬折返殿中，叫出:''殊勝英挺的神在此'' !須佐之男之命不解，走到外面一瞧，嗄 !這不就是葦原色許男之神(大國主之命之別名)嗎 ?即招呼入內。須佐之男之命察知須勢理姬對大國主之命好感，因此，欲試練大國主之命。
(1)蛇、蜈蚣、蜂室:
當晚，讓大國主之命住在很多蛇的房間；須勢理姬因喜愛大國主之命，就把披在肩上一條漂亮的蛇之比礼(有咒力加持可驅蛇之布)交給祂，並告訴祂，如蛇侵犯的話，只要揮動這塊布三下，就能驅趕。夜裡，當蛇接近時，依指示操作，蛇果然自然安靜下來，就這樣，一夜平安度過；翌晨，啥事沒有的表情，從那房裡出來。次晚，改睡有蜈蚣及蜂的房間；但須勢理又把蜈蚣及蜂的比礼給祂，同樣地，是夜也安逸無事，次晨，若無其事地走出房門，須佐之男之命確實感到驚訝 !
(2)鏑矢:(附在箭尾上，有孔，飛時空氣進入，發出聲響。)
須佐之男之命接著把鏑始射向原野，要大國主之命取回。大國主之命剛走進原野，須佐之男之命立即點燃枯草，大國主之命隨之被火給圍困，沒有逃生之路，正苦無對策；忽然出現一隻老鼠，叫說:''內部有廣穴，外部出口窄縮''! 正納悶間，在老鼠叫的地方，用腳一踏，土表隨即陷落，露出穴口；這是天賜隱蔽之所，令祂異常高興。躲在穴中期間，火已從穴外燒過；先前那隻老鼠銜著鏑矢來到面前。另一方面，須勢理姬氣認為，原野全部燒盡，祂應已燒死，所以，帶著殯葬道具走出屋外。須佐之男之命也相信這次必定會被燒死；不料，大國主之命把鏑矢呈獻在眼前，使祂大為震驚 !
須佐之男之命為了更進一步試練祂，把祂叫到御殿的八田間之大室；指的是後部房間數很多的大廣間。要大國主之命抓除祂頭上的蝨子，大國主之命望了一下，並非蝨子，而是密密麻麻的蜈蚣；正在思考該如何處置時，須勢理姬躡足而至，把樸樹子及赤土交付；大國主之命將樸木子用齒嚼碎，加赤土混合，然後連口水一起吐出來；須佐之男之命以為吐出來的東西是被咬死的蜈蚣，心中對祂愈發信任，不知何時竟睡著了 !
大國主之命已接受各式各樣的試練，但怎樣才能令須佐之男之命滿意呢 ?絲毫沒有把喔。所以，想利用祂入眠時逃走；於是，將須佐之男之命的頭髮綁在屋頂的垂木上；搬來五百人才拉得動的大石頭，塞住房間的入口；立刻背著須勢理姬，帶著生太刀、生弓矢及天之沼琴(前二者寶物之武器，後者為一族支配上之祭器)逃了出來。由於過度慌張，觸動了琴木，使大地鳴動起來，聲音非常大，驚醒睡夢中的須佐之男之命，因頭髮結在垂木上，經使勁一扯，整個房子給拉倒了，待把頭髮從垂木上解開，大國主之命已逃的遠遠了 !
不久，須佐之男之命追到了根之國與現世邊境，有個叫黃泉比良坡的地方，遠遠地向大國主之命叫說:''用祢拿著的太刀與弓矢，把八十神趕下黃泉比良坡並一直驅逐到河裡。因此，祢身上具有武力支配力及宗教支配力；大國主之命之外，亦可稱宇都志國玉之神；以我之女須勢理姬為正室為宜。然後在出雲之國的宇迦山之麓，把宮柱打到地底的岩磐，垂木架在天空之高，建造雄偉舒適的殿宇 。
